Hello Breakthrough!
I hope you all are enjoying these beautiful and warm days as much as I am. Gotta love these mild, spring-like temps, huh?! So, how are you doing this week? Anyone finished with Christmas shopping yet? I still have a few small items I want to purchase and then I’ll be ready for all of the merriment! I LOVE giving. Its just in me. The thrill of watching someone’s response to the perfect gift is simply priceless. And, even as much as this holiday has been commercialized, I still think that God smiles about all of the cheerful giving going on everywhere (as long as its done responsibly of course – I’m sure He’s less than jolly about debt making, but that’s another topic for another day, right?!)
As the countdown to Christmas gets tighter, I encourage you to make it a point to be still for a few moments each day because God has so many gifts to offer us. We can only fully access those gifts when we are getting into His word and into His presence. Be still and know Him as God. I know that life can get crazy around this time of year. The “12 days of Christmas” feels like an understatement sometimes, and we can end up feeling, well, less than composed if we’re not careful.
But, if your tinsel is already tangled, don’t stress! Its all the more reason to Stop and talk with God, not just talk at God. Remember that a true conversation requires listening. Get still for a while with God, open up His word, and listen. You’ll never regret it, and your tinsel might twinkle a bit brighter as a result J
This week is gonna be another exciting one at Breakthrough as we continue the teaching series Miracle and hear about how God still works miracles all around us every single day and how to be more aware of them! So, before Sunday, and over the next week especially, I am praying that you will find yourself intentionally making time for interaction with God and allowing Him the chance to speak to you. You’ve already taken the first step by using the resources here! Enjoy your alone time with our Father, and get excited about the time we get to spend with Him together on Sunday!! Its gonna be great and I’m looking forward to seeing all of you there!
